The Right Reverend Heath Light was the fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia from 1979 to 1996. Trends in the national church including the adoption of a new Book of Common Prayer and the ordination of women caused tensions throughout the church. Bishop Light will speak of these times at 9:30 AM Sunday morning, October 23rd then will lead the 10:30 AM service at Christ Episcopal Church. A reception will be held in the Parish House following the service.
