Dear Christ Church,
Lynn, Raul, I and the rest of the worship team is taking off July 19th.
Even though we will not have any morning programming on Zoom, we encourage you to worship with the National Cathedral at 11:15. You can watch their service live on their website or their facebook page. You can find a link to their website with instruction on how to watch below.

Hank Long has graciously offered to lead Evening Prayer, so we will still be able to offer that service in person on Sunday Evening at 5:00 in the Gathering Space behind the Church.
Thank you all for your continued support and dedication in these trying times.
Blessings,
Nick
Here is the recording of our service this morning on Zoom. God bless you and we wish a holy Ascension Day!
Dear Christ Church,
I am sure that this announcement does not come as a surprise to you, but it is still painful to make. We are canceling Church for the foreseeable future in order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. None of us are infectious disease experts, and in times such as these, we must rely on the advice of professionals and our elected officials. The Center for Disease Control strongly recommends that groups of fifty or more should not gather, and our President recommends that groups of ten or more do not gather. I believe that we would be doing our congregation a disservice if we continued to worship in person. This measure is not only meant to protect you, it is meant to prevent our Church from being a center of contamination for our entire community. Our country has already seen places of worship become centers for outbreaks, most notably Christ Episcopal Church in Georgetown. Our vestry has voted to remain closed for as long as schools are canceled.
While we will not be gathering together physically, we will be offering the Daily Office, and Sunday morning worship digitally. I will do Facebook Live videos for morning prayer at 9:00, noonday at 12:00, and evening prayer at 5:00 daily. You can watch these videos through our website even if you do not have a Facebook account. You will receive instructions on how to watch Sunday morning worship through an e-mail. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I encourage you to take this seriously, and be responsible by staying home unless it is absolutely necessary to leave. If you are in need of anything, whether that is prayer, a conversation or groceries, we are here for you. Do not hesitate to call or e-mail me with whatever you may need.
Blessings,
Nick
