Trunk or Treat and Haunted House

Trunk or Treat and Haunted House

Sunday, Oct 30, 2011 - 5:00 P

Parish House Parking Lot and Basement

From 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In conjunction with other churches around town, we are participating for the first time in Trunk or Treat.

What is trunk-or-treating?

A Trunk or Treat is a Halloween event that is often church - or community-sponsored. People gather and park their cars in a large parking lot. They open their trunks, or the backs of their vehicles, and decorate them. Then they pass out candy from their trunks. The event provides a safe family environment for trick or treaters.

When it comes to decorating your vehicle, there are the obvious choices, like decorating for Halloween, using pumpkins, spider webbing, spiders, brooms, bats, cauldrons, scary stuff..., but not too scary since it is for
mostly young children.

The best way to plan your trunk is to pick a theme. Think of it like dressing yourself in a costume. Some theme ideas : NASCAR, any sports teams, popular kids cartoons/shows, western, pirate, camping out, hippies, holiday.

We need as many parishioners as possible who would like to give children of the community a safe place to trick or treat by coming here.

We are asking that each vehicle to please bring enough candy for approximately 100 children.

If you want to help, but do not wish to participate in the actual event, candy and monetary donations would greatly be appreciated.

Please call or email or see Debbie for more info or to sign-up your vehicle.

Our Youth Group will be running a haunted house in the Parish House basement, in conjunction with this event.
